About

Shane Phillips, LCSW, LCAS, CCS I work with adolescents, adults, and families who are struggling with a variety of mental health, substance use, and existential problems. The people I work with, regardless of life stage, are often looking to reduce their suffering and increase their sense of meaning and purpose. My first priority is to establish trust and help create a relationship that is both safe and honest. With the support of this secure relationship, my clients are able to better understand their self-limiting or self-defeating patterns, mourn life's necessary losses, and establish or reestablish a life that is organized around the values that matter most to them. My work is rooted in third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies, which essentially use mindfulness practice to help people expand their capacity for acceptance and change. My hope is that clients will establish a reliable self-esteem, improve their ability to be in relationship with themselves and others, and create more room in life for joy and gratitude. I have experience providing clinical services to adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of treatment settings, including: collegiate student services, academic medical centers, and residential addiction treatment. Additionally, I have worked in program administration, taught at the university level, and provided supervision to provisionally licensed counselors. I continue to provide clinical supervision services for LCSWAs and LCASAs.
